Cornwall and the isles of Scilly SMP review
In January 2008 the The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Coastal Advisory Group commenced a review of the three initial Shoreline Management Plans (SMP1's) for the region; one for North Cornwall, one for South Cornwall and the other covering the Isles of Scilly. it was decided that for consistency and to avoid duplication of effort that these three SMP's should be combined to form a single SMP review for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The process involved in the production of the SMP will be documented on this web site to ensure Inclusivity, transparency and clarity, to the public and organisations who wish to be both involved and appraised of findings and policy suggests which may affect them.
Engaging with Stakeholders throughout the whole SMP development process is an essential facet of integrated coastal erosion and flood risk management. By creating dialogue with interested parties at an early stage establishes a sense of ownership and a vested interest in the final policies.
